Jacobsen watercolours at World of Pattern

Arne Jacobsen was not only a renowned architect and designer but also an avid painter throughout his life. He frequently used watercolour as a medium, particularly in his travel sketches and studies of nature. His watercolours reveal a more personal and experimental side of his artistic practice, offering insight into his keen sense of colour, composition, and form. These works, often overlooked, highlight the depth of his creativity beyond architecture and furniture design.

Now, selected watercolours can be experienced at the exhibition World of Pattern, alongside works by other renowned artists, including William Morris, Josef Hoffmann, Sonia Delaunay, Sölvi Sólon Íslandus Helgason, as well as Josef and Anni Albers.

Visit World of Pattern, Nordiska Akvarellmuseet, from 11 May 2025 – 14 September 2025.
