A visionary revival of gesamtkunstwerk

A visionary revival of gesamtkunstwerk

A visionary revival of total design

In 1960, Arne Jacobsen reimagined Royal Copenhagen’s classic Blue Fluted Plain in a soft, muted green – a hue he personally selected to complement the interiors of the SAS Royal Hotel. This thoughtful detail was part of his uncompromising gesamtkunstwerk approach: creating harmony between architecture, furniture, lighting, and even tableware.

Now, Royal Copenhagen brings this legacy back to life with Green Fluted Plain. The collection, crafted with the same care as over six decades ago, features the exact green tone chosen by Jacobsen himself. More than a colour, it is an expression of his enduring vision for refined, nature-inspired modernism.

Shot in the iconic Room 606, the new collection speaks to those who value heritage, craftsmanship, and timeless design.
