The Egg table relaunched
In March 2022, Fritz Hansen relaunched Arne Jacobsen’s Egg table. With its three slender, oblique legs and egg-shaped tabletop, it was originally created in 1952 as part of a series of tables designed to complement the Ant chair. Like the Ant, the tables were light, functional furniture designs that fit into a small kitchen dining nook or a functional canteen.
When Arne Jacobsen designed the table in 1952, he highlighted its light visual expression by designing the tabletop with bevelled, rounded edges. Today, Fritz Hansen makes it with a tabletop in walnut veneer and legs in polished chrome.
