The ARNE JACOBSEN collection was launched in 2002 in a collaboration between Georg Jensen Damask and designer Tobias Jacobsen, Arne Jacobsen’s grandson. The launch took place on the centenary day of Arne Jacobsen’s birth
In addition to his work as an architect and furniture designer, Arne Jacobsen designed a large number of textile and wallpaper patterns. The early patterns, dating to the 1940s, reflect the inspiration Arne Jacobsen found in nature, while his later patterns have a simpler and more geometric expression. Today, Georg Jensen Damask produces a range of home interior fabrics featuring Arne Jacobsen’s patterns; most of them are based on these latter, geometric patterns.
